Instructor Bio:
Jonah, a native of Dutchess County, grew up hiking the Shawangunk Ridge and Catskill Mountains with his family. A former baseball player, he discovered his passion for tennis in middle school, inspired by the legendary rivalry between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. His enthusiasm for the sport took him to the Rogers Cup in Montreal and the US Open, where he served as a ball boy for four years.
By high school, Jonah was a standout athlete, competing in state championships and dominating the Mid-Hudson Athletic League. He won four consecutive singles titles and led his team as captain. He also embraced the rising sport of pickleball—building a court at home and teaching group clinics in his community.
Jonah holds an honors degree in neuroscience from Brown University, where he competed in club tennis and was a varsity rower. He brings a wealth of experience working with kids of all ages, both on and off the court, having led wilderness trips for high schoolers in Washington State and taught at tennis camps across several local clubs.
Off the court, Jonah enjoys cycling, learning new languages, and exploring local bakeries. He’s thrilled to bring his passion for tennis—and his energetic, inclusive approach—to INNESS.
