Whether you’re a lifelong bookworm or simply looking for something new to curl up with this winter, our new Book Club is a chance to connect with fellow members in person (and on Goodreads!). We meet one evening per month, with 4–6 weeks to read—or listen to—each month’s selection. Dates are shared a couple of months in advance so everyone has time to plan ahead.
To keep things fun and accessible, book selections follow a few simple guidelines: under 400 pages, available in print, digital, and audio formats, geared toward adults 18+, and generally well-rated across multiple platforms. We aim to avoid overly controversial topics and anything too violent.
Each month, INNESS’ Membership Director curates five book options—drawing from bestseller lists, member recommendations, and more. Book Club members then vote on the title we’ll read together the following month. Genres vary widely, from cozy mysteries and historical fiction to lighter beach reads as summer approaches, so an open mind is encouraged!
The only real requirement is that participants read the book—print, digital, and audio formats are all welcome. 😉 These gatherings are open to registered INNESS Community and Golf Members only. Each participant should register individually under their own name so we know who to expect. No guests, please.
There’s no fee to participate beyond the cost of the book. Local libraries typically carry all selections, and the NYPL system (hot tip!) is open to anyone with a New York State address. Complimentary wine will be served.
Meeting locations will rotate seasonally and based on attendance, from the Gatehouse Bar to hilltop picnic-style gatherings, or cozy evenings by the fire in the Farmhouse.
