Instructor Bio:
Jonah, a Dutchess County native, grew up exploring the Shawangunk Ridge and Catskill Mountains with his family. A former baseball player, he discovered tennis in middle school, inspired by the rivalry between Nadal and Federer. His passion for the sport took him to the Rogers Cup in Montreal and the US Open, where he worked as a ball boy for four years.
By high school, Jonah was competing at the state level and dominated the Mid-Hudson Athletic League, winning four consecutive singles titles and serving as team captain. He also embraced pickleball, building a court at home and introducing the sport to his community.
Jonah studied neuroscience at Brown University, where he played club tennis and rowed on the varsity crew team. After graduating, he won the Woodstock Open singles tournament in 2019 and went on to work as a tennis and pickleball pro at Woodstock Tennis Club and Zena Rec.
Off the court, Jonah enjoys cycling, learning new languages, and exploring local bakeries. He’s excited to bring his passion for tennis to INNESS.
