This workshop will introduce the basic techniques of handbuilding to form functional pottery forms. Handbuilding is an ancient pottery-making technique that involves creating forms without a pottery wheel, using the hands, fingers, and simple tools. Participants will complete a stoneware project within the allotted class time, that will then be taken by the instructor to be glazed (optional) and kiln-dried. All projects will need to be picked up at a later date. Hotel guests may arrange to have their pieces shipped at cost. All experience levels welcome.
This class is geared towards adults ages 18 and over. Open to registered INNESS members and hotel guests. Members are also welcome to bring (1) guest to accompany them at the higher ticket price. RSVP is required. Cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance in order to qualify for a refund. Please note that all guests must park their cars in the main lot at the top of the hill, near the restaurant and venture down the hill by foot or request a ride from the gatehouse staff.
