Join Rise Outside for a half-day workshop on rock climbing at an off-site location (either Minnewaska or Mohonk Preserve). Participants will learn the basics of how to climb and will be able to practice these movement skills on real rock. While outside, we will explore rocks, learn about native plants and animals and learn rock climbing skills in a safe and supportive environment. All NYS climbing fees, climbing gear (shoes, harness, helmet) and licensed guides will be provided. Ages 6+.
Rise Outside is a registered 501c3 dedicated to diversifying the outdoors. Their mission is to create access to outdoor adventure for all communities through inclusive and qualified mentorship.
Children should dress in comfortable layers, apply insect repellent, bring water, healthy snacks & lunch. We will make time throughout the morning to ensure everyone is eating and staying nourished. Once you've registered, Jess will pass along a waiver form that will need to be signed prior to the workshop.
This activity is only open to members and RSVP required. Two professional climbing instructors, plus Jess will be supervising this activity. Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance in order to qualify for a refund.
