Join us for a cozy Sunday morning in the Farmhouse. Local fiber artist and yarn designer, Josie Duran, will will cover all the steps of how to start knitting, including how to get stitches onto the needle, working the basic knitting stitches and how to successfully knit your first scarf. This is meant to be an informative tutorial for new knitters, but it's also a great opportunity for intermediate knitters who might need help with a current project they're working on.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE KNITTING KITS (bamboo needs and hand-painted alpaca yarn from the instructors farm in Tivoli, NY) ARE SOLD OUT. Anyone who signs up after 1/25 will need to bring their own needles and yarn!

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance in order to qualify for a refund for the class fee or knitting kit.

More about the Instructor: Josie raises a small herd of alpacas on her farm, savoring the journey from the birth of each alpaca to spinning and hand-dyeing the yarns that will eventually become a thoughtfully knitted project. This concept of “slow knitting” is a celebration of craftsmanship, working from the ground up, where the time making an object is as important as the object itself.

This is a community-building gathering for INNESS members - sorry, no guests. This workshop will be taking place on the ground floor of the Farmhouse. Please note that guests must park their cars in the main lot at the top of the hill and make their way down to the farmhouse by foot, or you may request a ride from the gatehouse.

* We would love to make this a regular gathering in the farmhouse if there's enough interest among membership!

Please reach out to Marcy at membership@inness.co if you have any questions about this activity.
