Join Miranda (Moo) from The Vanaver Caravan for this wonderful introduction to the world of dance. A combination of circle games, floor warm-ups, and imaginative story-telling will have children learning formal modern dance technique, rhythm, and flexibility without even realizing it. Students explore their full-range of movement, becoming an active part of the class structure. Throughout the series, dancers will transform into animals, circus performers, fairies, mythical creatures, elementals, and more! Students who take class with Moo learn so much more than dance steps--they gain confidence, expand their imaginations, and sharpen their problem-solving skills. All this happens in a noncompetitive, welcoming, and very fun atmosphere!

Magic Movement is geared towards children 4-8 years old. We will be hosting Magic Movement in the Barn. This intro-class is open to members and RSVP is required. All cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance in order to qualify for a refund.

More about the instructor: Miranda ten Broeke has danced since her toes could point and her heels could flex. She is the Executive Director for The Vanaver Caravan, co-founder of Shakti Caravan umbrella in India, the Program Director of CaravanKids Weeks, as well as a dancer and teaching artist. Her work with the Caravan has instilled in her a belief that the arts–in all its forms–can be used as a catalyst for social change, and she brings that belief to all the work she does. She has a BA in Education from The New School, and is currently dancing happily between her work in Brooklyn, the Mid-Hudson Valley, and India.
