Olaf Breuning will present his latest 'Smoke Bomb' art installation at INNESS on Sunday 6/4. Attendees will get an up close and personal look at the artist's process as he orchestrates the smoke performance with his assistants. This will be a ticketed viewing preceded by an intimate cocktail reception in the Farmhouse. Ages 18 and up. RSVP required.

In the case of inclement weather, the event will be held the following Sunday, June 11th.

The exact location on property is still to be determined, but the cocktail reception with specialty drinks and hors d'oeuvres will take place from 2:30pm - 4pm, then we'll make our way down to the installation. The length of the performance(s) will depend on the weather conditions and how the smoke dissipates. The artist and his assistants may need to reset and do the performance a second (or even third) time to ensure that a beautiful image is captured for the print release. Attendees are welcome to depart at any time.

A public display of "Smoke Bombs" will also be performed during the Upstate Art Weekend (7/21 - 7/24). Olaf's photographic prints of this June installation will be available as a limited edition in the Farm Shop during and after the Upstate Art Weekend.

More about the artist: Olaf Breuning (Swiss, b.1970) is a visual artist from Schaffhausen, Switzerland. Breuning studied photography at Zuercher Hochschule der Kuenste, Zürich, in Switzerland, and graduated with a degree in 1993. After completing his advanced graduate degree in 1996, he started to work as a visual artist and is best known for his impact on Contemporary Art.

While many of his peers focus on photography or video work, Breuning creates installations, sculptures, photographs, films, and other types of art. He often looks to pop culture for inspiration, adding touches of lightness and humor to his work. Sibylle, one of his earliest pieces, shows a woman covered with images of references to works of other artists. Another one of his pieces, Easter Bunnies, shows the Moai sculptures on Easter Island with rabbit ears. New Yorkers will recognize his sculptural piece entitled 'Clouds' from its 2014 location at the south end of Central Park, now on display at Art OMI in Ghent, NY.

Within the last 25 years, his work has been shown at Metro Pictures Gallery, New York, The Whitney Museum, New York, Louisiana Museum, Denmark, Mori Museum, Tokyo, Palais de Tokyo, Paris, Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, and many other places. For more information about his work, please visit his page: www.olafbreuning.com.

Breuning currently resides in Kerhonkson, NY, with his wife and daughter.
