This workshop will introduce the basic techniques of hand-building to form functional pottery forms. Hand-building is an ancient pottery making technique that involves creating forms without a pottery wheel, using the hands, fingers, and simple tools. All experience levels are welcome.
Participants will complete a stoneware project within the allotted class time, that will then be taken by the instructor to be glazed (optional) and kiln-dried. Everyone will be notified via email when their pieces are available for pick-up from the front desk, approximately 3-4 weeks after class. Please note that HOTEL GUESTS may arrange to have their finished piece shipped to a domestic address. Please pre-purchase the flat rate shipping fee on the ticket page if you require this service.
This class is geared towards adults ages 18 and over. Open to registered INNESS members and hotel guests only. RSVP is required. Space is limited - we cannot accommodate any other guests this time around. Cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance in order to qualify for a refund. Please note that all guests must park their cars in the main lot at the top of the hill, near the restaurant and venture down the hill by foot or request a ride from the front desk staff.
